Because the dev is a retard and added a "supply" mechanic. You need to buy supplies in shops to feed your crew or they lose levels every time you sleep.

One Piece game. The ones I used to play were fun, but they lacked something. So, I decided to make my own game, my way—not just to fulfill a desire I had, but also for people who might have the same thoughts as me.

Booty Hunter is a Management Sim. And it's like that because I enjoy games of this style. Of course, there are people who don’t like it, and that’s okay. Maybe I’ll be the reason some future dev makes a game because they saw something missing in
BH that they wished was there, just like what happened to me.
You may not have liked the update, and that’s fine, but don’t act like your opinion is supreme—it’s not. There are players who enjoyed the changes, and especially me. I’m an indie dev, and while I respect the public’s opinion, I make my game the way that pleases me the most.
I don’t think the attitude of insulting someone over something you didn’t like is mature behavior. We’re not children here. If you don’t like something, express it through constructive criticism and propose improvements—don’t resort to insults.
